Several residents of the village of Dubingiai, led by Vaida Navickaitė and Kastytis Žilinskas and his wife Jolanta Žilinskienė, on their own initiative, created an innovative sign to remember the village’s Jewish community. The sign has an outline of the former synagogue and is partially transparent, enabling the viewer to imagine the synagogue in the setting of a hillside overlooking the beautiful Asveja Lake. The building outline on the sign is also illuminated in the evenings.
The sign also includes a QR code which lead to the web page created by Dubingiai residents with information about the Jewish community.
Remembering Litvaks, Inc., contributed a portion of the cost of the sign, which was dedicated in May 2024.
